Travis Ismay voted against
south dakota house bill 1099
President Trump and South Dakota's veterans needed a yes vote. They didn't get one from Travis Ismay.
House Bill 1099 was straightforward: ensure South Dakota veterans suffering from PTSD and treatment-resistant depression could access FDA-approved treatments without bureaucratic delay. Veterans advocacy groups came to Pierre to testify in support. The Trump administration backed faster access to these breakthrough therapies. Governor Rhoden signed it into law.
Travis Ismay voted no.
The bill passed the SD House 58-7. It cleared the Senate 21-12. Bipartisan. Pro-veteran. Pro-Trump. And Travis Ismay stood against it.
South Dakota's combat veterans have a suicide rate higher than the general population. This bill was about giving them access to clinically proven relief. Travis Ismay said no.
District 28 deserves a senator who stands with our veterans and our president when it matters. Travis Ismay had his chance. He chose wrong.
SOUTH DAKOTA DESERVES BETTER.
